Sample Construction Timeline
Habitat homes are built with the assistance of many volunteers, including local contractors who may volunteer their time to do jobs requiring skilled labor or professional credentials such as pouring concrete or installing electrical systems. While work contributed by volunteer professionals must be scheduled when they are available, regular (unskilled) volunteers are generally asked to be available on Saturdays for assigned tasks.

Each house has its own unique construction timeline, determined by the family’s needs, the specifications of the house plan, and other factors. Below is a sample construction timeline, but please keep in mind that the actual schedule may vary depending on the home design, availability of materials and volunteers, and; of course, the weather.

If you are interested in volunteering to help – either at the build site or in non-construction roles, – please communicate with us in advance. We make every effort to provide meaningful roles for all persons who wish to volunteer their time, but roles at the build site may not always be available at the time of your request.

Groundbreaking Ceremonies
Event planning is coordinated by the Family Support Committee, with assistance as needed from the Volunteer Relations Committee. Help in providing food, setting up and taking down is more than welcome.
