Coles County Habitat is excited to announce the completion of our newest home for Clarissa Mouley & her son, Idrees! We hosted a lovely house blessing for the family to welcome them home.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all of our incredible volunteers who worked so hard to build this home for Clarissa & Idress! Special thanks to Zachary Whitley with Whitley Carpentry for being our talented site supervisor, Corrine Joyner & Rhonda Adair for being the family's support team, and to all of our regular skilled crew who show up week after week until the home is finished.
Habitat is truly grateful to all of our partners, without whom our work would not be possible. Their continued support is building affordable housing for families like Clarissa & Idress in our community.
Habitat extends our deepest gratitude to our Sponsors for their significant financial contributions in supporting this build:
We want to recognize our generous donors who are providing in-kind professional services &/or materials for the home:
We are thrilled to announce our 43rd partner family, Clarissa Mouley and her son, Idrees, of Mattoon. Clarissa moved to Mattoon during her childhood and relocated back in 2013. Her son Idrees is in the 8th grade and attends Mattoon Middle School. Since childhood Clarissa wanted to be a nurse and have a house with a white picket fence. Like many of our families, Clarissa hasn’t had the easiest life, and has overcome many challenges including homelessness. Yet facing adversity can create great resilience and determination. From 2015-2019, Clarissa put herself through Lakeland College’s nursing program, one class at a time. She finished college with a License to Practice Nursing and no student loan debt. She is now employed with a private company providing pediatric care to children.
