Welcome Home Amber
In September 2018, Coles County Habitat completed our 38th home for our newest family, Amber Pedigo and her sons Benjamin & Henry.
A special thanks goes out to all of our volunteers and construction site supervisors, Zach Whitley & Butch Thompson, for their incredible dedication in completing the home!
96 volunteers worked over 1,500 hours on building this home! Along with Habitat's longtime loyal volunteers, dozens of new individuals signed up to volunteer along with five groups including Charleston High School’s Habitat Chapter, Country Financial, EIU's Habitat Chapter, Lakeland College’s Construction Class, and Mattoon Precision.

Our 38th Partner Family
Amber Pedigo is our 38th partner family. Amber has lived in Charleston for the past nine years and is employed at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. She is the mother of two incredible sons, Benjamin and Henry. Amber is planning to pursue a career as a nurse. She was recently accepted into Lake Land College's Nursing Program.
Amber was excited to build her new home and to get to know everyone at Habitat. Construction of her home began in April 2018 and finished in September.
